Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.diploma/degree in nursing) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse. Experience: Grade 1: None. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing. Inherent requirements of the job: Valid (Code B/EB/) driver’s licence. Willingness to render relief duties at the PHC platform within Southern Western Sub-structure when necessary. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Ability to function/make decisions independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Good communication, interpersonal relationships, exceptional leadership and conflict resolution skills. Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies of the Department of Health Western Cape.
Duties
Provision of Primary Health Care in accordance with the guidelines and protocols of the Western Cape. Guide and direct personnel when working as shift leader. Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively. Active participation in Major Incident/ Disaster Plan. Participation in training and research. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self- development. Participate in various activities such as Infection Prevention Control, Occupational Health and Safety, Ideal Clinic and Quality Assurance.
