Requirements
Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e., diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse and Midwife. Post-basic qualification, with duration of at least 1-year, in Curative Skills in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (R48). Registration with a professional council: Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse and Midwife. Experience: Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General nursing and Midwife. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing and Midwife At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the 1 year post basic qualification as mentioned above. Inherent requirement of the job: Prepared to work at different facilities within the Sub District inclusive a Mobile and when needed within the community (COPC concept). Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Nursing and public service legislation. Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal). Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
Duties
Assist with the management of the burden of disease in accordance with the guidelines and protocols of the western cape. Provide and maintain quality of care to all patients and health services. Maintain accurate clinical records, 117", "statistics registers, and referral records. Effective utilization of Resources/Stock within the limited budget constraints. Participation in Community events and initiating awareness with regards to health-related issues. Maintain and participate in inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teamwork but able to work independently. Supervise and mentor lower categories of staff. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self- development.
